The Wild Beach School program, launched by the Final Straw Foundation in 2022, has connected over 3000 children in Hampshire and West Sussex with coastal ecosystems through hands-on learning. It fosters environmental stewardship, creativity, and teamwork while enhancing well-being. The initiative aims to provide all schools access, ensuring every child experiences the beach.
Wet wipes, often marketed as flushable, significantly contribute to sewer blockages, resulting in £200 million in annual costs for water companies in the UK. These products create harmful fatbergs and increase pollution on beaches. The solution is simple: follow the 3 P’s rule and dispose of wet wipes in the bin to protect the planet.

The festive season can generate lots of waste, but the Final Straw Foundation offers some tips to help curb this.
